Our Activities

There are those in the world who are accustomed to the idea of joining an association in order to attain a palpable goal. They propose to us over and over the same goal: “You ought to do this or that,” or, “I would love that our Militia entirely consecrate itself to such-and-such a work because then we would consecrate ourselves to it as well.”

Not at all! The chivalric and Dominican Militia, inasmuch as it remains so, can have but one goal: that of working to bring about the Reign of Jesus Christ in society. That is its very essence and it does not exist for any reason but this.

The Militant (and the Novice) wear the uniform of the Militia at Holy Mass and for processions - the mantle (cape) for assisting, the mantelletta (vest) for sitting in choir, and the pelligrina (capelet) over a surplice and cassock for serving. These raiments are in the Dominican colors, white and black. The color white is the symbol of the Divine Truth which pushes the soul toward doctrinal understanding and contemplation of the mysteries of the Trinity, the Incarnation, the Redemption and the Church, which translates in turn into a solicitude, a zeal, for the Reign of Christ through the practice of penance, symbolized by black.
